I am slowly preparing this stone
for future restoration
*seems to be in fairly good
condition
*although the inscription is
starting to weather
*with soil cut away on an angle
it can now be left until later to do
more work next year

3 Tablets Lie Flat
*these tablets were dug up and
laid in a bed of crushed gravel.
*were buried 3 deep at the same site

"A Big Repair For a Tiny Stone"

**this tiny stone was in great need
of some gentle repairs
**repaired with epoxy and still
standing sturdy in 2010
**stands near front road

**the assortment of tools used
to complete the following grave tablet site.
**brushes, rakes, lifting bar, shovel,
prodding rod, knife, hand trowels,
pruners to cut roots and a pail,
**also used a wheelbarrow

Peggy O'Rourke works to
shovel crushed gravel in around
the base and the stones, to give
them a firm foundation to rest on.

*these old tablets, marking
the graves of ancestors of
the community, are now up
and standing, to preserve
them for many more years.

of the graves with more
information on them.
